Fudge (D-Ohio), and Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) introduced a resolution commending the Federal Food for Peace program, recognizing the ongoing humanitarian need in conflict areas around the globe, and calling for the continued prioritization of funding for Food for Peace programs.

Congressman Jim Costa has hit out at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell over his failure to impose stricter gun control laws following a shooting in his California constituency of Fresno which left four people dead.

McConnell is once again receiving backlash in the wake of another mass shooting in the country after he blocked a Senate vote passed by the House in February which would require full background checks on all people trying to purchase a firearm.

"This Continuing Resolution keeps government running and provides some budget certainty to families, businesses and communities across the country," said Costa. "It extends funding for community health centers and diabetes programs, provides a pay raise to our armed forces and ensures states receive highway funding."
