Congressional Art Competition

The 2024 Congressional Art Competition has officially been announced! Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school art competition to recognize and encourage young artistic talent in our district. Learn more about the Congressional Art Competition HERE.

 

Congressional App Challenge

Each year, students are challenged to create and submit their original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge (CAC). While the rules differ per district. This is an opportunity to advance STEM and recognize young leaders making a change. Winning teams will be recognized and each winning app may be put on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. 

 

U.S. Service Academies

U.S. Service Academies are without a doubt, some of the finest schools in our nation.  In attending a service academy, the young Americans who attend these fine establishments will be instilled with great discipline and leadership abilities.

Members of Congress have the opportunity to nominate individuals for service academies each year.  This helps ensure a wide range of students from throughout our nation attend the service academies. Learn more about the Service Academies HERE.

 

Internships

The Office of U.S. Congressman Jim Costa offers internships to qualified college students and graduates who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a congressional office. Full and part-time internships are offered year-round in our Washington D.C. and Fresno offices. Learn more about internships HERE.

 

Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA)

The Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan

There are now 7.5 million borrowers enrolled in the SAVE Plan, of whom 4.3 million have a $0 payment. The SAVE Plan is the most affordable repayment plan for low- and middle-income borrowers and puts many on a path to earlier forgiveness.
