WASHINGTON – Congressman Jim Costa (CA-21) joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers in introducing H.R. 3300 -Forest Protection and Wildland Firefighter Safety Act of 2025, bipartisan legislation to ensure aerial fire retardant remains a reliable tool for wildfire suppression without being delayed by lengthy federal permitting processes.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representatives Jim Costa (D-CA-21), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA-18), Dan Newhouse (R-WA-04), Mike Simpson (R-ID-02), David Valadao (R-CA-22), and Adam Gray (D-CA-13) reintroduced H.R. 3227 - Farm Workforce Modernization Act, a bipartisan workforce solution for America's agriculture industry, one of the most critical sectors of the national economy.

WASHINGTON – Representatives Jim Costa (CA-21) and Brad Finstad reintroduced the Linking Access to Spur Technology for Agriculture Connectivity in Rural Environments (LAST ACRE) Act, legislation that would improve access to high-speed broadband for rural communities by establishing the Last Acre grant program within the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Office of Rural Development.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Jim Costa (CA-21) introduced the Safety Training for Officers on Public Health Threats Act (STOP Health Threats Act), bipartisan legislation to equip local law enforcement officers with the tools and training they need to recognize and respond to public health threats arising from building code violations, including illegal and unsafe facilities like the biological lab discovered in Reedley, California in 2023.
