Grijalva (D-Arizona) introduced a resolution honoring the 65^th anniversary of the first Bracero workers in the United States. The Bracero program was implemented in 1942 to fill the labor shortage in the United States caused by World War II. Twenty-eight states participated in the program, which lasted from 1942 to 1964.

WASHINGTON, D.C.- On September 29, 2007, the National Park Service will waive all entrance fees, including vehicle and commercial tour fees, to National Parks across the country. The fee waiver is to celebrate National Public Lands Day, and to encourage Americans to visit their local national parks. In addition to waiving entrance fees, national parks and other public lands will host special programs and volunteer work parties to commemorate the 14^th annual event.

WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Congressman Jim Costa (D-Fresno) announced that an investment award of $2,680,000 has been awarded to the City of Parlier to support the construction of infrastructure improvements to the second phase of Parlier Bio-Agricultural Industrial Park. These funds are being awarded through the United States Department of Commerce Economic Develop Administration. It is anticipated that 125 jobs will be created through this investment. Costa wrote several letters to the Economic Development Administration in support of the investment award.
