WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger today led a bipartisan effort calling on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to delay potential herbicide registration revisions — such as dicamba registrations — that could exacerbate existing herbicide shortages, threaten the ability of some farmers to plant crops on time, and negatively impact the bottom lines of American farmers and producers in the 2022 growing season.

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE) – Local leaders came together Tuesday afternoon to offer a glimpse into the future of how President Biden's trillion-dollar infrastructure package will start to rebuild not only our country but the Central Valley.

Just a week ago, President Biden signed into law the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, investing over 1 trillion dollars to fix our nation's infrastructure.

It allocates 25 billion dollars in supplemental funding for airports, that is on top of the funds already authorized for airports under existing law.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's estimated 2.6 million travelers will pass through Fresno Yosemite International Airport this year.

The new parking garage is already in use but not all floors are accessible yet.

The city now looks to expand beyond the garage.

"We also have plans on the horizon for a new terminal," says Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer. "We do not have the funding for that yet."

The City of Fresno hopes to tap into the $15 billion available in airport infrastructure grants and $5 billion for airport terminal projects.

Washington, DC – Congressmen Adrian Smith (R-NE) and Jim Costa (D-CA) led a bipartisan group of more than 70 members in sending a letter to President Biden urging him to seek assurances from Mexican President López Obrador that Mexico will abide by the biotech provisions established in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Since 2018, biotech application approvals by Mexico have come to a standstill, impacting corn, apples, canola, cotton, soybeans, and potatoes.

The infrastructure bill that was signed by President Joe Biden on Monday is going to bring some big projects to the Central Valley according to the two local congressmen that voted for it.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act invests more than $1 trillion to fix the nation's infrastructure while expected to create more than two million jobs over the next decade.

WASHINGTON D.C. (KGPE) – A couple of valley officials witnessed President Joe Biden sign the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law on Monday.

The Infrastructure package is the largest public transportation investment in USA history.

A large chunk of the bill will get to California. In fact, the Golden State is expected to get around $45 billion in the first five years, which is the most money out of any state in dollar amount.

What an amazing nine days Gustine FFA had in Indianapolis, Indiana and Washington DC. Gustine FFA had 16 current members and three Gustine FFA alumni attend the 93rd National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis. Students that were awarded the trip participated in many Gustine FFA events as well as events and competitions at the sectional, regional, and state levels during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years.

Nearly every member of the House Democratic Caucus signed onto a letter demanding an independent investigation into two fatal shootings carried out in the span of a week by officers at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). 

“We are calling for immediate independent investigations into both of these deaths, without interference,” the lawmakers wrote, referring to the killings of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston and Joan Guerrero in Maine.
