WASHINGTON - U.S. Congress members on Tuesday honored John Earl Madden, a former Oakland Raiders coaching great who went on to become the most famous sportscaster in history.

Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-California) led a Special Order Hour in memory of the 85-year-old Madden who died on Dec. 28 in Pleasanton, which falls in Swalwell's district.

Swalwell along with Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Illinois), Congressman Jim Costa, and Congressman Jerry McNerney (both D-California) each paid tribute to Madden on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

President Joe Biden delivered a forceful speech one year after a mob of Donald Trump supporters attempted to block the certification of his presidency.

"Those who stormed this Capitol, and those who instigated and incited, and those who called on them to do so, held a dagger at the throat of America," said President Joe Biden.

Abigail Spanberger today led a bipartisan effort calling on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to delay potential herbicide registration revisions — such as dicamba registrations — that could exacerbate existing herbicide shortages, threaten the ability of some farmers to plant crops on time, and negatively impact the bottom lines of American farmers and producers in the 2022 growing season.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's estimated 2.6 million travelers will pass through Fresno Yosemite International Airport this year.

The new parking garage is already in use but not all floors are accessible yet.

The city now looks to expand beyond the garage.

"We also have plans on the horizon for a new terminal," says Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer. "We do not have the funding for that yet."

The City of Fresno hopes to tap into the $15 billion available in airport infrastructure grants and $5 billion for airport terminal projects.

Just a week ago, President Biden signed into law the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, investing over 1 trillion dollars to fix our nation's infrastructure.

It allocates 25 billion dollars in supplemental funding for airports, that is on top of the funds already authorized for airports under existing law.

Since 2018, biotech application approvals by Mexico have come to a standstill, impacting corn, apples, canola, cotton, soybeans, and potatoes.

In addition the bill contains $3.2 million for the completion of the Farm to Market Corridor project that runs through Ducor on Avenue 56.
