Washington, DC – Congressmen Adrian Smith (R-NE) and Jim Costa (D-CA) led a bipartisan group of more than 70 members in sending a letter to President Biden urging him to seek assurances from Mexican President López Obrador that Mexico will abide by the biotech provisions established in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Since 2018, biotech application approvals by Mexico have come to a standstill, impacting corn, apples, canola, cotton, soybeans, and potatoes.

WASHINGTON D.C. (KGPE) – A couple of valley officials witnessed President Joe Biden sign the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law on Monday.

The Infrastructure package is the largest public transportation investment in USA history.

A large chunk of the bill will get to California. In fact, the Golden State is expected to get around $45 billion in the first five years, which is the most money out of any state in dollar amount.

The infrastructure bill that was signed by President Joe Biden on Monday is going to bring some big projects to the Central Valley according to the two local congressmen that voted for it.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act invests more than $1 trillion to fix the nation's infrastructure while expected to create more than two million jobs over the next decade.

Gustine FFA had 16 current members and three Gustine FFA alumni attend the 93rd National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis. Students that were awarded the trip participated in many Gustine FFA events as well as events and competitions at the sectional, regional, and state levels during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years.
