Rep. Jim Costa (D–Fresno) has secured $12.2 million for local projects throughout Congressional District 21. 

The funding comes in the form of grants for the federal government’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget. 

The big picture: At the top of the list is a $3 million investment in the Upper Kings Groundwater Resiliency Project, which is facilitated by the Alta, Fresno, and Consolidated Irrigation DIstricts. It will construct 3,300 acres of basins to be used for capturing surface water in wet years and pumping groundwater during dry years.

WASHINGTON - Congressman Jim Costa (CA-21) and Dusty Johnson (SD-AL) introduced the Modernizing Operations for Vehicles in Emergencies (MOVE) Act to provide flexibility and certainty to our supply chains in times of emergency.

"During times of emergency and the pandemic, struggling communities in my district were hit hardest by roadblocks to our supply chain,” said Costa. “This bipartisan legislation will remove barriers that prevent us from delivering vital relief when communities need it most.”

FRESNO, Calif.– Congressman Jim Costa (CA-21) launched the “Valentines for Vets” program to collect and distribute Valentine’s Day cards to local veterans in California’s 21st Congressional District.

San Joaquin Valley residents are encouraged to participate in the “Valentines for Vets” program by dropping off or mailing cards to Costa’s offices in Fresno and Visalia. The deadline for submission is Monday, February 12, 2024.
