WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Congressman Jim Costa (D-Fresno) announced that two separate grants of $321,221 each have been awarded to the Metropolitan Medical Response System jurisdictions in Bakersfield and Fresno. These funds are being awarded through the United States Department of Homeland Security Homeland Security Grant Program. These grants are for fiscal year 2008.
"This current water shortage is having a devastating effect for our farmers and farm-workers, and as a result, everyone living in the Valley," said Costa.
"I am very happy with the President's signature on this important piece of legislation," said Costa.
"This is great news for Cal State Bakersfield," said Costa.
