Rep. Jim Costa Statement on the National Defense Authorization Act of 2025

WASHINGTON – Congressman Jim Costa (CA-21) released the following statement after voting against the House passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025, also known as the defense budget.

“House Republicans are politicizing our national security with partisan attacks and culture wars. This defense budget weakens our defense capabilities and attacks the freedoms of women and LGBTQ+ individuals. The world is on fire with conflict and Congress must govern by leadership, not by crisis. I will work with my Senate colleagues to pass a bipartisan, reasonable defense budget.” said Congressman Costa.
