Costa Issues Statement on Keeping the Government Open

WASHINGTON – Congressman Jim Costa (CA-16) released the following statement after voting for the Further Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2023. This continuing resolution will keep the government funded and open through December 23, 2022, as Congress works to enact a full budget. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
“It is our duty as the United States Congress to fully fund the federal government to ensure its working for all Americans,” said Costa. “While I am pleased to have avoided a government shutdown, it is imperative that Congress pass a full budget to address the many challenges we face today. With the end of the year coming up, I urge my colleagues to put partisanship aside and let’s work together to deliver for the American people.”
