Central Valley Honor Flight marks 35th trip

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) - The Central Valley Honor Flight flew dozens of veterans to Washington DC for its 35th flight.
The veterans were given a tour around the state capital.
Congressman Jim Costa and Congressman Vince Fong got to meet the veterans.
Costa wrote, "I had the honor of welcoming our Central Valley veterans as we continue to commemorate 250 years of American democracy.
For generations, brave men and women have answered the call to serve and defend the freedoms we hold dear.
To our veterans and their families, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to our country. A grateful nation can never say thank you enough."
Fong wrote, "As America celebrates our 250th anniversary, meeting these veterans and hearing their stories is a powerful reminder that the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy today were protected by generations of Americans willing to answer the call and sacrifice for something greater than themselves."
