Rep. Costa Statement On President Obama’s State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON,D.C. —Congressman Jim Costa (D-Fresno) released the following statement on PresidentBarack Obama's State of the Union address:

"ThePresident's call for all Americans to work together to make the country'seconomic recovery our highest priority is something we can all agree on. Some of us in Congress have been saying that for the past two years!"

"ThePresident's "Winning the Future" blueprint has outlined the many challengesthat lie ahead – reducing the deficit, reforming government to make it moreefficient and effective, and investing in infrastructure, education andinnovation. America must maintain its world-wide competitive edge in thisarena."

"Thekey to the Valley's future is the health of the state's water infrastructureand ensuring an adequate and reliable supply of water remains my highestpriority. It is the key to our economic recovery and the way to win thefuture for Valley residents. I join the Administration's call for sharedresponsibility with my Republican colleagues as we work together on thecountry's economic recovery.
