Rep. Costa Announces $71,985 Grant for Kings Community Action Organization
WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Congressman Jim Costa (D-Fresno) announced that a grant of $71,985 has been awarded to Kings Community Action Organization in Hanford, CA. These funds are being awarded through the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development’s Community Facilities program, which were provided in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Rural Development Community Facilities program helps finance essential community facilities for public use in rural areas.
“Kings Community Action Organization plays a vital role in Kings County,” Costa said. “These funds allow them to continue to provide world-class services, from child development to energy and housing programs, to the residents in Kings County.”
The Kings Community Action Organization has been operating in Kings County for 44 years.
Approximately $58.1 million was released by USDA to essential community facilities across the nation. These facilities include child care centers, hospitals, medical clinics, assisted-living facilities, fire and rescue stations, police stations, community centers, public buildings and transportation. Through this program, USDA ensures that such facilities are available to all rural residents.
