Costa Statement on Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade

WASHINGTON – Congressman Jim Costa (CA-16) released the following statement after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending 50 years of constitutional protections for reproductive services across the country.

"Every woman in America deserves to make their own healthcare decisions. The Supreme Court has overturned a fifty-year precedent that will have a profound impact across America," said Costa. "This ruling strips women of their freedom to make their own decisions and the constitutional right to privacy. California has codified reproductive rights into law, it's long overdue for the rest of the country to do the same. I will not stop fighting for women to have the right to make their own decisions. Our fight is not over."
