Costa Releases Statement on Initial Water Allocations

(FRESNO) - Congressman Jim Costa released the following statement on today's announcement of a 15% water allocation for Central Valley Project South-of-Delta agricultural water contractors:

"After one of the driest Februaries on record, these allocations are not surprising," said Costa. "Nonetheless, these numbers cannot sustain the Valley's livelihood. Today's announcement goes to show the continued need for investment in water storage and conveyance infrastructure. The unpredictable weather patterns of Climate Change and these allocations further demonstrate the importance of bringing state and federal parties to the table to work together on California's water future."
