Costa Introduces Resolution to Support 2020 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

April 21, 2020

(FRESNO) – In support of 2020 National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW), Congressman Jim Costa (CA-16) introduced a resolution recognizing the vital needs of crime victims and survivors across the country and throughout the world. The 2020 National Crime Victims' Rights Week theme— "Seek Justice | Ensure Victims' Rights | Inspire Hope" – emphasizes how victim service providers and others can help all survivors in the aftermath of criminal victimization.

"Crime victims and survivors need and deserve our support, this week and throughout the year," said Costa. "During 2020 National Crime Victims' Rights Week, it is important to remember how we can all help them improve their lives. Federal programs like the Crime Victims Fund are critical to supporting over 10,000 organizations, like the Marjaree Mason Center in Fresno, that provide essential services to millions of victims every year. I remain committed to ensuring that survivors of all crimes are no longer left in the shadows."

Congressman Jim Costa is a founding member and Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Crime Survivors and Justice Caucus that works alongside allied organizations to identify, address, and elevate the needs of crime survivors through legislation, education, and public awareness.
