COSTA ANNOUNCES GRANT RECEIVED IN CITY OF HURON

FRESNO, CA- Citing much needed improvement to the City of Huron'sPolice Department facilities, Congressman Jim Costa announced today that theCity of Huronwill receive $50,000 Community Facility Grant from the United States Departmentof Agriculture.

Costa noted, "The USDA'S Rural Development CommunityFacility Grant program is instrumental in providing assistance to ruralcommunities across America." Community Facility Grants, he pointed out,provide funds to assist in the development of essential public facilities and services. These funds can be used to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilitiesfor health care, public safety, and community and public services.

Funds receivedthrough this grant in the City of Huronwill be used to enhance the current facilities and services of the Huron PoliceDepartment. "The Huron Police Departmentwill be able to purchase needed vehicles and equipments, to repair theirfacilities and improve their services. All of which are vital in providing itscommunity members with adequate service," Costa concluded.
