CONGRESSMAN JIM COSTA ANNOUNCES MILITARY ACADEMY APPLICATION DEADLINE
FRESNO, CA - Congressman Jim Costa (D-Fresno) is seeking local students interestedin attending our Nation's prestigious military academies. Applicationsare available from Representative Costa's District offices in Fresnoand Bakersfield to interested students who livein the 20th Congressional District, which is comprised of parts of Fresno County,Kern Countyand all of Kings County. The deadline forsubmission is Monday, December 19, 2005.
"It is an honor to serve in our Nation'smilitary and these service academies instill in students great discipline andleadership abilities that will be useful in any career path students maychoose," Costa stated.
To apply for a nomination potential appointeesmust complete an application, which can be obtained from Congressman Costa'soffice, and those qualified will be scheduled for an interview withRepresentative Costa's academy selection committee. This committee iscomposed of community leaders in the 20th CongressionalDistrict. They will seek out a well rounded individual that meetsacademic qualifications, sets a standard for community involvement and hasleadership abilities.
