Congressman Jim Costa and California State Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. to Discuss Rural Crime

Fresno, CA- On Wednesday, April 11, Congressman Jim Costa, D-Fresno,will be joined by California State Attorney General Jerry Brown and SanJoaquin Valley leaders at two separate events in Fresno. At the first event, Costaand Brown will discuss the Agricultural Crime Technology Information andOperations Network (ACTION) Project which focuses on agricultural crime. Thesecond event, Central Valley Latino Leaders Forum, will be a discussion of ruralcrime in our communities.

The ACTION Project is fundedthrough the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, toprovide an efficient and method for anticipating, preventing, andprosecuting agricultural crime in California.

"In order to address ruralcrime in the San JoaquinValley it is imperativethat we collaborate on efforts to create viable solutions to these communityconcerns," said Costa.

Brown said: "It iscritical for the Attorney General's Office to work closely with local lawenforcement to fight rural crime."
