CONGRESSMAN COSTA ANNOUNCES FEDERAL GRANTS AWARDED TO THE DISTRICT

Washington, D.C. -Today, Congressman Jim Costa (CA-20) announced federaltransportation grants awarded to California's20th Congressional District.

"Iwould like to congratulate the City of Coalingaand the City of Fresno on receiving these grantsand thank them for their service to the Central Valley,"Congressman Costa said.

TheCity of Coalingawill receive $150,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration. These funds will be used to help installautomated weather reporting equipment, rehabilitate runways and installperimeter fending at the NewCoalinga MunicipalAirport. The point of contact is Mr. Richard Warne,who is the City Manger.

TheCity of Fresno Traffic Operations Center will receive $302,946.00 from theFederal Highway Administration. The Traffic Operations Centerstudies traffic patterns, installs traffic lights and monitors parkingmeters. At this time, the FederalHighway Administration can only provide 2/3rds of the grant. The total grant award will be for $454,419. The remaining funding will be awarded to theCity of Fresnoafter the US House and Senate pass the final version of Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy For Users.
