CONGRESSMAN COSTA ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS AWARDED TO FRESNO COUNTY

Fresno, CA - Today, Congressman Jim Costa (CA-20)announced that approximately $525,000 has been awarded to the City of Firebaugh from theDepartment of Housing and Community Development's HOME Investment PartnershipsProgram.

"Thesefunds play an integral role in creating and maintaining housing activities,"Congressman Costa said.

TheCity of Firebaugh'sTenant-Based Rental Assistance Program and First-Time Homebuyer Program are thebeneficiaries of the grant. Both programswill receive a portion of the funds; the Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Programwas awarded $125,000 and the First-Time Homebuyer Program was given $400,000.

Thisgrant is part of nearly $95 million being awarded to help meet the affordablehousing needs of Californiafamilies. The HOME Program funds will beimplemented to support programs for homeownership, housing construction andhousing rehabilitation.

"Affordablehousing is becoming difficult to attain for many families and this grant willbe key in providing housing options to those families," Costa concluded.
