Repairing Bridges
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is the single largest dedicated bridge investment since the construction of the interstate highway system. California has 1,536 bridges in poor condition, with this federal funding we have an opportunity to make progress and repair bridges in communities that need it most. California will receive nearly $29.5 billion over five years in Federal highway formula funding for highways and bridges.
Federal dollars from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are already being invested here at home to improve our bridges, including:
$243,458 to replace the existing M109 bridge crossing over White River with a new two-lane bridge structure to match the required minimum width to carry two lanes of traffic. (Tulare County)
$398,385 to replace two-lane bridges with a 4 lane bridge on Manning Avenue over Travers Creek. (Fresno County)
$5.2 million to replace two-lane bridges on Manning Avenue; the James Bypass Overflow East Channel Bridge. (Fresno County)
$14 million to extend 1.2 miles north of Hudson Avenue overcrossing to 0.4 miles south of Manning Avenue Overcrossing. (Fresno County)
