GRANT AWARDED TO FRESNO ART MUSEUM

Fresno, CA -Congressman Jim Costa(CA-20) announced today that the FresnoArt Museum will receive the Museums ofAmerica grant in the amount of $149,176 from the Institute of Museumand Library Services.

"The Museums of America grant supports hundreds ofeducational programs and the advancement of community partnerships of museumsacross the country. This grant will allow the Fresno Art Museumto create lasting relationships with the community while they continue to expandthe programs and projects they currently have," Congressman Costa explained.

TheInstitute of Museumand Library Services provides Museums for America grants to help strengthenmuseum services throughout the country. Funds are used to encourage culturaltourism, the digitization of thousands of museum collections and othertechnological ventures, as well as the establishment of numerous educationalprojects and services.

Thegoal of the FresnoArt Museum is to conductoutreach campaigns in the community and to enrich the museum's relationshipwith its Spanish-speaking guests. It aims to enhance the experience of museumguests by creating more accessible web pages, high-quality programming and byexhibiting films and art showcases from Latin Artists.
