1.3.2013 Costa Sworn in for 5th Term

Washington, DC – Rep. Jim Costa was sworn in for his 5th term representing the people of the San Joaquin Valley in the United States Congress. Costa will now represent the 16th Congressional District which includes all of Merced County and parts of Fresno and Madera Counties.

“Today we were given a fresh start and a chance to leave behind the bitterness and partisan battles of the last Congress,” said Costa. “Our challenges are great, but so too are our opportunities. Now we must rise above our party differences and live up to the trust that has been placed in us by the American people.

It is a privilege to serve the people of the Valley. It’s time to come together; it’s time to get to work.”

Costa will continue to serve on the House Agriculture Committee which is tasked with reauthorizing the Farm Bill in the coming year. He will also remain on the House Natural Resources Committee which has jurisdiction over federal water projects and resources.
